Dún Artisan Bakery
The Dún Artisan Bakery in Dungarvan is run by Caitríona Keating and Fergal Walsh. It’s a testament to authentic baking, along with a modern twist reflecting their experience and backgrounds.
With an emphasis on using minimal, quality ingredients, the majority of which comes from Co. Waterford or Ireland, they produce a wide range of sourdough bread and pastries – all made in-house.
The trained chefs, who have a passion for baking and fermentation, opened their bakery in Main Street in July 2021 – and a lifelong goal was achieved.
The bakery has a stylish and simple interior that showcases what they do best – creating natural and organic produce with the unique sourdough taste and texture from the fermentation process, which Caitríona says takes three days to make.
With no additional additives, they also use seasonal ingredients that allows a fresh mix of produce for customers who can see their creativity come through. And with sustainability a key part of the bakery, they continually strive for the very best ingredients from Ireland that helps the environment too.
Whilst you’re there, you can also sit and relax enjoying a coffee, pastry, and the bustle of a busy bakery.
Caitríona and Fergal have already established a loyal customer base and are now supplying restaurants nearby looking for locally made, quality bread. With new products being introduced, there are exciting times ahead for these skilled artisan bakers.
