Set on the dramatic coastline of West Waterford, Fire & Feast is an intimate, culinary and craft experience that brings together two of the region’s renowned artisan forces – Taste Waterford and Ardmore Pottery & Gallery.
Pottery and food go hand-in-hand. They celebrate artistry, skill, and a connection with the things we love – and this experience is about bringing those passions together.
Join Sarah Lincoln of the award-winning Ardmore Pottery & Gallery, and Luis Martin of Mara Restaurant for an experience like no other.
Discover the background to the studio that has propelled them to become one of the most respected small potteries in Ireland.
Established in the 1980s by Mary Lincoln, Ardmore Pottery & Gallery has developed into one of the leading craft and design shops in Ireland, stocking the work of over 150 different makers and artists from around the country.
Under Sarah’s expert tutorage, explore techniques and skills to create your own pottery piece, allowing your inspiration to guide you, whilst Sarah offers the knowledge and tools to help your creation come to life.
And then there’s the food.
Luis Martin is currently Munster’s Best Chef for three years in a row, earning praise for his innovative food with flavours inspired from his hometown of Santander, and inspiration from Waterford’s landscapes.
Dine with his curated menu that not only celebrates local flavours and seasons, but is also served with tableware made by respected makers across Ireland.
With a pottery piece to take home once fired, and an exclusive culinary journey, you’ll have memories of touch and taste – all with a stunning backdrop of Ardmore Bay.

Welcome
Guests are welcomed into the world of Ardmore Pottery & Gallery by Sarah Lincoln and Luis Martin or Gaston Salord of Mara Restaurant. Here you will enjoy a drink whilst talking with friends and guests, and appreciating the space filled with beautiful craft and design from all around the island of Ireland.
The dining experience
Luis Martin or Gaston Salord then take centre-stage and introduce the cuisine for the evening. They will focus on flavours, locality, and ensure you receive a fine dining experience.
The how
Sarah then guides the evening talking about the process of clay, wheel, and kiln, setting the tone for the experience.
Become inspired
With your board and clay, now is your chance to shape a ‘starter’ piece and understand the basics of crafting a shape. Sarah also talks about the tools and glazes that can be used to decorate your piece.
Craft your own design
Now you have learnt the introductory skills, this is when you receive your first clay to shape into your final piece. Work with clay, a beautiful material, to shape, create, and decorate your piece. Again, Sarah is on-hand to ensure you get the best from your work.
Not quite the end
As with all pottery, your item will require firing. Your piece will be fired in two separate firings and the whole process will involve a three-week turnaround.
Your experience continues when you receive your finished piece, which will be food and dishwasher safe and ready for use at home.
Please note: There is a charge for the item to be sent via postal service or courier. Standard costs range from €5 for deliveries within Ireland, to €39 – €59 for overseas courier. This charge is taken at the time of the experience.

Aprons are provided for pottery making.
Experience is unfortunately not suitable for individuals with reduced mobility.

Tutorage by Sarah Lincoln into the background of pottery, and skills and techniques to craft a piece. Guests are instructed to make one piece – a bowl in their own decoration.

Should you decide to cancel, 10 days in advance of the tour date is required for full refund. No refund will be given with less than 10 days notice.
Full payment is required before the experience commences.
Taste Waterford does not offer refunds or alternative dates for no-shows.
Taste Waterford reserves the right to change the experience.
Should the minimum amount of people required for the tour not be achieved, the tour will be cancelled, and you will receive a full refund. You will be notified of cancellations at least 48 hours before the experience.
