The Vitamin Sea Festival is back, and we’re super excited about bringing the ‘Taste Waterford Demos & Chats’.
We’ll be at The Victoria House in Queen’s Street, Tramore, Sunday 22 September, 12.30pm – 5.00pm – with exciting cooking demonstrations, talks and tastings.
Hear about the fascinating food and drink stories from our incredible chefs and producers – all set in the stunning coastal town of Tramore.
The Vitamin Sea Festival celebrates Tramore’s food and outdoors. Running 20 – 22 September, it’s packed with sea and food-inspired events with something for everyone. There’ll be a range of family-friendly activities to take part in and unique dining events across Tramore.

We’re kicking off the Taste Waterford Demos & Chats with someone who’s not only passionate about promoting fine food and drink from Waterford on menus, they’ve also won an award for produce too!
Jenny Flynn is the executive chef of Faithlegg Hotel. She’ll prepare a dish that sings what’s great about Waterford makers with local trout and clams, and why it’s important to showcase them to visitors at Faithlegg.
Along with plenty of food stories, she’ll also talk about what it takes to create an award-winning marmalade, and other produce at Faithlegg that receives accolades.

1.30pm Mary Sharpe – Irish Gourmet Butter
What’s better than a butter board? An award-winning butter board!
Mary Sharpe and her husband Billy Sharpe own Irish Gourmet Butter – a Waterford producer that’s received multiple accolades over the years for their range of butter – having recently taken gold, bronze and best in county at last year’s Blas na hÉireann.
She’ll create sweet and savoury butter boards using jams, roasted garlic and herbs – packed full of seasonal flavours.
Butter boards make an exciting addition to a dinner party, and an easy way to entertain.
So grab a cracker or bread – and enjoy!
2.30pm Luis Martin – Mara Restaurant
Be prepared for innovation, creativity and exciting flavours at this demo – bring in Luis Martin, owner and head chef of Mara in Waterford.
His unique style of taking Waterford produce, and introducing Spanish flair with dishes that have 5-star presentation is receiving plenty of recognition.
The ever-passionate Luis will talk about his love for Waterford, and why he’s made it home so he can showcase his culinary ethos.
This demo will excite your senses, leaving you with delicious tastes and a respect for this standout restaurant.
3.30pm Nicola Crowley and Dvir Nusery – Mezze
If you’re new to visiting Tramore, or a local, a stop at Mezze is always a must.
Owners Nicola Crowley and Dvir Nusery run the deli, shop and café, and are bringing their Middle-Eastern food to this demo that will offer stories of adventure and flavours, and fun too!
They’ll create a dish that will be packed full of taste and textures – and give lots of hints and tips to try at home.
This is a great opportunity to hear from Nicola and Dvir about what inspires their award-winning cuisine, and to try Middle-Eastern food – delicious!
4.30pm Cristiano Gasparoti – Hopfully Brewing
Our final guest is not just any brewing company.
They’ve won awards, strive to collaborate with the local community, and have a selection of craft beers that have wowed the most demanding connoisseurs – bring in Cristiano Gasparoti – co-founder of Hopfully Brewing Company.
Established in 2017, they operate from Waterford City where they create high-quality craft beer with outstanding visual identity.
Hear about the company’s ethos, how they process beer, and what makes them so passionate about being part of a community.
With tasters on hand, it’ll be a fascinating and delightful end to this year’s Taste Waterford Demos & Chats.
