Dungarvan goes global!

We were delighted to welcome today (03 April 2025) a group of international travel trade buyers to experience a post-Meitheal FAM trip.

They had a true insight into the authentic food and drink offering in Dungarvan, with our Discovery Taste Tour.

Tour guide Hughie Hallahan entertained with fascinating facts and local customs, whilst stopping at three renowned venues.

Paul Flynn of the Tannery Restaurant spoke about local food, and guests enjoyed delicious seaweed scones made with seaweed from Marie Power – The Sea Gardener.

She also gave a talk on the many benefits of seaweed and including it into food.

Next stop was to hear from Martin Carroll of The Old Bank. He presented local bruschetta, oysters, and ice-cream.

And finally, The Local Bar was the last stop to experience a traditional Irish coffee and dessert.

Our visitors also received a gift including a gin and tonic from the Blackwater Distillery, and a craft beer pack from the Dungarvan Brewing Company.

It’s great to see Taste Waterford’s food tours, restaurants, bars, and producers on the global stage – and look forward to welcoming overseas visitors to enjoy our rich food and drink offering.

Many thanks to our global friends and Fáilte Ireland for the opportunity.
