We had our first networking event of the year last night at Coach House Coffee (08 April) where we had two fascinating talks.
Joe Prendergast offered his knowledge of biodynamic agriculture – a method of farming that recognises the dynamic nature of living systems and the farmers/growers who interact with it.
And Mary Sharpe of Irish Gourmet Butter gave insights into the benefits of entering Blas na hÉireann – the Irish Food Awards – ideal for any local producers.
There were plenty of questions too from the audience, which created a positive discussion.
We’d like to say a massive thanks to Joe and Mary for sharing their knowledge in these important areas of farming, growing, and showcasing local producers.
And another thanks go to the team at Coach House Coffee for providing an outstanding venue for the talks, and also delicious cakes and pastries!
For any local food producers, there is still time to enter Blas na hÉireann. Deadline is 14th May. Visit: https://www.irishfoodawards.com/
