When Margaret Fleming established Waterford based DessertFirst in 2010, the core then, and now, is traditional home baking of the highest quality.

Roll on 13 years and Margaret has built a reputation for supplying quality sweet and savoury products to the retail and hospitality sectors.

And in that time, she has won many titles, including the coveted Blas na hEireann Irish Food Awards. The success of these has been credited to handmaking traditional recipes with quality ingredients including real Irish butter and fresh eggs for a superior flavour.

Margaret’s background was originally qualifying as a Home Economics teacher, and soon discovered her true passion lay in the business of food. To help get started, Margaret completed a three-month professional cookery course at Ballymaloe Cookery School.

DessertFirst’s Food Service range is ideal for hotels, restaurants and gastro pubs – and offer quality and convenient produce in the ‘thaw & serve range’ or ‘bake from frozen’ options.

The wide range in different fillings and flavours include quiches, scones, tray bakes, pastry lids and bases, deep fill tarts and cupcakes.
