Having a food and drink brand that reflects the quality of producers and members is incredibly important.
Food The Waterford Way when launched in 2017 quickly established this need in the county – highlighting the scope of produce, passionate producers, and those who deliver in the hospitality and retail sectors. This recognition propelled the county to win Ireland’s ‘No.1 foodie destination’ in 2019.
And so roll on a few years and we thought during the pandemic it was a good time to review what we’re doing, and make sure you get the very best offering when it comes to Co. Waterford food and drink.
We looked at our brand name and decided by changing to Taste Waterford, it would align us better with other networks in Ireland – further promoting the great story across the country.
The website, being a key part of communicating the story, underwent a refresh to offer members further benefits, and for foodies to access information easily and conveniently, and on ways to be greater connected with food and drink.
We now believe we have built upon the success of recent years and best placed Taste Waterford to ensure we remain an integral part of the community in Co. Waterford.
Richard Povey, our Project Manager, said: “The breadth and quality of food and drink producers in Co. Waterford is incredible. Quite literally on our doorstep we can find some of the best produce in the country, brands that are sold worldwide, and many members being award-winners several times over. And when you combine this with the stunning landscapes in the county, we offer a tremendous experience to anyone that lives here, as well as visitors and tourists domestically and overseas.
“The rebrand and new website is part of a new story for Taste Waterford. We have exciting plans to deliver more ways for members to help build and promote their business, for foodies to hear about what’s happening in their county, and also for new and exciting ways to interact and engage with the fabulous produce and members.”
Taste Waterford is officially launching during April. Sign up to the foodie newsletter for further updates.
