5-star review for our Mountain Splendour Taste Tour!

Carlson NJ

We’re delighted to receive a glowing review for our food tour in the Comeragh Mountains.

Carlson NJ from Waterford gave it top marks for the entire experience. He said: “It’s an exciting tour that offers an amazing experience in the production of food from local farm producers. The tour embraces the diverse heritage of food production in Waterford. It also provides an opportunity to gaze at the wonderful sights of the Comeragh Mountains.

“From the Granville Hotel, we commence our tour under the expert tutorage and guidance of Johnny Landers. First stop of the day, Crough Coffee, before meeting Andrew who takes us on a walk along Crough woods.

“There’s plenty to catch the eye along the walk, from vibrant green plants to the mountain backdrop as Andrew explains and demonstrates the different varieties of plants that can be used for cooking or homemade remedies.

“This is then followed by a trip to Comeragh Mountain Farm. It has its own biodynamic and organic systems in place, so you can see exactly where your food is coming from.

“There’s plenty to keep you entertained here from ducks to the resident dogs. And not forgetting Clotilde Kiely and her family.

“You later get an appreciation of the magnificent scenery as William Drohan from Comeragh Mountain Lamb deliverers his brilliant piece of the tour which entails a brief family history, production, and a special demonstration.

“After an energetic day, who wouldn’t appreciate a wonderful meal? The tour ends at Cooney’s Yard, a family run café where everything is freshly cooked. The perfect end to a wonderful day. The service was friendly and attentive. I would return for lunch.

“To sum it up in a few words, “what a day”.”

Thanks Carlson!
