Mountain Splendour Taste Tour
The Granville Hotel
Co. Waterford has an incredible backdrop – the Comeragh and Knockmealdown Mountains. With spectacular views, mountain lakes, and a distinctive mix of heather, grasses, herbs and animals, it’s no wonder some of our celebrated producers make it home.
To give you a true understanding of what it’s like to live and work in this stunning landscape, we’ve created the Mountain Splendour Taste Tour.
Your tour guide, Johnny Landers, will offer a unique insight into folklore and mountain life throughout the tour.
He’ll take you on a trail to forage with expert Andrew Malcolm, where you’ll learn what’s edible, and not!
After a visit to Clotilde Kiely of Comeragh Mountain Farm, where you’ll hear about sustainable farming, the stunning Mahon Falls await, where you’ll meet sheep farmer Willie Drohan.
He’ll talk about this special landscape, show you his distinctive Scottish Blackface sheep, and finally you’ll have lunch at his eatery – Cooney’s Yard, where you can enjoy lunch.
This Taste Tour will give you a true insight into passionate producers, food stories passed down through the generations, and scenic splendour that can only come from Co. Waterford’s mountains in Ireland’s Ancient East.
